Non-governmental status

HudumaCheck is a non-governmental directory run by its own team. It is not part of any government office, no official body approves what it publishes, and it accepts no payment from the services it describes. It does not accept payments, identity documents, or credentials on behalf of any government body.

Sources

Every material claim on a record is linked to at least one archived source and marked with one of four evidence classes.

• Taken directly from an official source, with a locator and a retrieval date.
• Calculated from official figures; the calculation is described.
• Written by HudumaCheck editors and clearly marked as guidance, not official instruction.
• Provided by users and labelled as such; it is not official confirmation.

Review and freshness dates

Each published record shows the date the information was last verified and the date it is next due for review. A record that has passed its review date is never presented as current.

Uncertainty

Where a material fact cannot be confirmed from an official source, the record says so and avoids stating a value. Synthetic and example records are marked visibly and are never presented as real.

Corrections

Reports are submitted through the Report an error or change form and each gets an anonymous reference. Contact details are kept only with separate consent and for a limited time. Corrections are verified before publication like any other change.

Limits

HudumaCheck covers the services it has verified so far; coverage is not complete. Information can change between reviews, and an official source always outranks our record. Confirm fees, requirements, and timelines with the official source before you act.
